MISSION STATEMENT

Bay Area STAR is a professional, non-profit organization that promotes the common business interests of the electronic communications and advertising companies in and around the San Francisco Bay Area. The efforts of STAR are aimed at helping to strengthen the future of our industry and to create a greater diversity in the work force. This will be accomplished through fundraising for Outstanding Intern and Scholarship programs; continuing education on issues related to the industry; and providing ongoing networking opportunities.


MEMBER PROFILE
The business professionals that comprise the membership of Bay Area STAR are:
  • 110 Corporate Members, representing 98% of the Media and Advertising Companies in the Bay Area.
  • Managers of television stations, radio stations, cable companies, communications companies, Internet companies and advertising agencies. Almost one-third hold the title of Vice President or Director at their company.
  • They are the ultimate consumers. They frequent the latest restaurants, travel more than 6 times per year for business and pleasure, own cars worth $35,000 or more, have more disposable income than the average, are adept at using the latest computer technology, etc.
  • They are decision-makers whose jobs demand that they constantly stay abreast of the latest news trends and how those trends affect their businesses on a daily basis
  • They are pro-active. Many are involved in community activities outside the office ... Little League, tutoring youngsters, supporting local charities, etc.
