JOB SUMMARY
The Creative Services Producer will be responsible for producing a variety of different materials for air ranging from promo spots to special programs, based on assigned projects. The Producer must possess the creative and technical skills necessary to produce effective, quality material, ready for air, and have the ability to take charge of coordinating and executing all aspects of a production. This individual will be responsible for simultaneously performing the Director and Technical Director Functions during one hour LIVE daily morning show. Must be able to effectively work well under pressure to meet deadlines, and work with/for colleagues toward a common goal while maintaining a high degree of professionalism. This position will served as part of the Morning daily live show crew reporting to the Morning show Executive Producer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Must have excellent video and graphic composition skills.
• Develop effective promotional and commercial spots for the station.
• Conceptualize, write, shoot, edit, and design graphics
• Execute projects such as promotional events, sweeps campaigns, special on-air promotions
• Plan content and execute the production for special events and/or special programs
• Work on any other projects assigned by Department head
• Other duties as deemed necessary

EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE: B.A. degree in Communications, Broadcasting or Advertising preferred. Minimum 4-5 years’ experience as a Producer and/or Video Editor. Must have several years’ experience as a videographer and editor.

BASIC SKILLS: Ability to edit on non-linear systems such as Avid, Premiere or Final Cut Pro. Working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, camera operation, 3-D graphic programs (Cinema 4d or 3Dstudio Max) and other compositing/graphic applications such After Effects. Must have experince doing Live camera switching. Must be computer literate in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Must be proactive, quick learner, with the ability to work well under pressure in a deadline driven environment. Must be able to contribute to other creative projects as deemed necessary. Must have excellent command of Spanish language both written and spoken. Must have the ability to work flexible schedule including early mornings, some weekends, and holidays. This position is represented by NABET, CWA Local 51.

EQUIPMENT OPERATION: A thorough understanding and operational experience on all technical broadcast equipment such as: iNEWS, Avid Newscutter, Vizrt Graphics, Adobe Photoshop / Premiere / After Effects, Field Production Equipment (Video / Audio / Lighting), Ross Video Switcher/OverDrive or equivalent, basic understanding of ENG operations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to carry camera and related equipment up to maximum of (30) pounds. Able to stand, walk, bend, reach and sit for up to (8) hours.

JOB SUMMARY
KDTV Univision in San Francisco has an immediate opening for a Video Journalist. A Video Journalist, will be responsible for generating story ideas, as well as making and maintaining contacts with community leaders, government, legislators and city officials. Presents on-air reports in a clear, concise, objective manner. Must be able to generate enterprising stories and sweeps ideas. The VJ will be a “one man band” to complete a story from onset to end. Must be able to work alone with the camera, to write and edit his/her story, and to interact with the viewers throughout the Univision web page and social media.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Gather information, conduct interviews, shoot video, write, edit and report assigned stories daily.
• Present stories live on air, online and/or mobile in a fair, accurate and unbiased manner.
• Generate video, images and/or information for our digital and social media platforms.
• Develop and maintain a network of news sources providing access to exclusive local stories.
• Generate story ideas. Investigate and research to generate exclusive stories.
• Establish and maintain news contacts and relationships with the community that will translate in news stories.
• Maintain strong familiarity with local, national and International news and issues of the day.
• Communicate with news producers, assignment editors and managers regarding story development, progress in the field and/or breaking news stories.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a collaborative manner that works well with co-workers, supervisors and the community at large.
• Other duties as deemed necessary.

BASIC SKILLS:
• Candidate must be completely fluent in English/Spanish, with superior written/spoken Spanish language skills.
• Minimum (5) years of experience as television reporter in a top 20 market.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism or related field, or equivalent work experience may be considered.
• Proven track record of strong writing, storytelling and live reporting skills.
• Must be able to use newsroom computer systems/applications (hardware/software). Knowledge of iNews required.
• Candidate must have functional to advanced knowledge in the use of field cameras, gear and editing systems.
• Candidate must be able to make sound decisions while working under extreme deadlines and must have the ability to follow directions and incorporate constructive criticism into work results.
• Must have the ability and flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to drive and have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE: BA degree in communication, journalism, television broadcasting preferred. (1) year newsroom experience required; or equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to drive, sit, stand and walk for up to (8) hours without restrictions. Ability to lift and carry up to (30) pounds for extended periods of time.
